The August winds are blowing wintry weather through with typical squalls and brilliant sunshine in between. If we can get behind shelter anywhere, the sun is quite hot.

Lambs are dotting the paddocks, fewer in number because of the drought and hungry foxes, but nevertheless, their antics delight the heart as always.

Spring is just around the corner, and the joy of the glorious wattle blossoms and jonquils is erasing the memories of drought. I am sure that the yellow colours of the first blossoms are no accident, yellow being the colour of cheerfulness.
